Hank Steinbrenner has hinted he would be interested in adding free-agent left-hander David Wells to the Yankees rotation this year. Wells, 45, appears most receptive to the idea, so let’s see how that one pans out. Wells was a Yankees pitcher for the 1997-98 and 2002-03 MLB seasons, and whether he makes it three is a question we’d all like to see answered.

Cubs fans anxious to preserve the name Wrigley Field for their historic ballpark after Tribune Company former Governor James Thompson said, “We certainly would want the name to stay Wrigley. I presume there are people out there who think so highly of Wrigley Field that they would want to be associated with it and therefore would be willing to pay for that privilege.” This is happy news indeed for Cubs fanatics, who have been sweating over the loss of their beloved Wrigley for a while now, and some have even threatened to boycott buying Cubs tickets if the name of the stadium was changed.
